Site History1000Words started July 2004 at Opendiary.com. I chose the name 1000 Words because of the old saying: "A picture is worth a thousand words". Well, I thought it was creative at the time. A little less than a year later Melanie, another Opendiary artist, was offering hosting and I applied and was accepted! 1000words was originally hosted at digitalexposure.org/, then it moved to abstraction.ws/, and then headlock.ws/. In Oct. 2009 I decided to get my own domain and I started 1000wordsart.com where I will hopefully spend many years! |
